If Vivaldi was born in Irland, he was called O'Stravaganza

French musician and arranger Hughes de Courson exactly knows haw to mix non-miscible things. He makes it free and easy, like a professional barman
invents a new cocktail precisely taking all ingredients in a proportion that results in a new perfect taste.

Hughes de Courson's album "O'Stravaganza - Vivaldi in Ireland" (2001) is a fusion of Irish jigs and reels and Baroque music presented here by
Vivaldi. It is mostly instrumental but there is one song "Lulaby for Diarmid" based on Gaelic poems.

The melodies and instruments interlace here fancifully, rythms are flowing from one to another. Baroque harpsichord gives place to irish flute and tin
whistle, the sound of uillann pipes is changed into symphonic sounding of violins.

In the recording of the album took part:
Ensemble Baroque "Le Orfanelle della Pieta"; Nollaig Caley (fiddle, lilting); Emer Mayock (Irish flutes, tin whistle, uillean pipes); Youenn Le Berre (low
whistles); Donal Siggins (Irish bouzoukis, mandolines); Myrdhin (celtic harps); Isabelle Olivier (celtic harp); Breda Mayock (vocals), Suzan Hamilton
(vocals).

I really like the album. It's a gulp of fresh air in such a great number of irish melodies that are repeated so often, that sometimes they become a liitle
bit hackneyed and you are looking for something brand-new.

P.S. I've uploaded my favourite track on Diddlyi page, welcome to enjoy it :)
